Meet

Sadhvi Elizabeth

&

Mahatma Jon

Yoga Inbody began when Elizabeth, discovering broken and alone feelings, began taking yoga classes. Her yoga mat was where she felt safe, peaceful and at home. In 2014 she deepened her practice by attending a 200-hour yoga teacher training session in Cusco, Peru. Her experience opened her heart and re-connected her to her soul. When she returned to Idaho, Yoga Inbody was born.

Over the next several years, Elizabeth would return to Peru to learn from her teacher, Chaityana Niti-Das and assist in teaching in teacher training programs. In between her time in Peru, she taught classes at a local studio in McCall, Idaho and private classes at her home studio in Riggins.

While in Peru she was also introduced to Reiki (an energy channel of love and light). She felt a strong draw to Reiki and loved its ability to help heal herself and others. Her teacher, Sheri Simms, taught her the tradition of Usui Reiki. Over a number of years, Elizabeth became attuned to all three levels of Reiki energy.

Others around Elizabeth felt a call to Reiki and she began offering Reiki treatments. As more people experienced this powerful healing energy, they too became interested in it and Elizabeth began offering Reiki trainings, attuning people to the different levels of this loving universal healing tradition.

Additionally, in 2017, Elizabeth enrolled in a 300-hour meditation teacher training where she gained deeper understandings and concepts of meditation. Specifically, she practiced Shamatha meditation, bringing the mind into a single pointed focus (achieving attentional continuity) and other healing meditations of Buddhism from Jodie Lee.

Jon’s entrance into the spiritual world followed a different path. Working in Nepal as a river and trekking guide he was exposed to Buddhism and felt a call to some of the teachings of this tradition. Even though the forces of Buddhism and yoga were present in his life, it was Ayurveda that first captured Jon’s attention.

An externally happy and peaceful individual, internally Jon was struggling with perfectionism, self-worth, negative thought trains, and fears. Ayurveda, he found, provided answers and direction to help appease (or at least work with) these thoughts and fears.

Intrigued by the mental/emotional and physical benefits of yoga he had seen from Elizabeth and learning about healing with Ayruveda, he began practicing asana. This practice was very difficult for him as he had spent the last 15+ years working as a backcountry guide, abusing his body in the pursuit of adventure. Slowly his body began to release and the pain and tension he was feeling began to ease.

In 2019 he attended a 200-hour yoga teacher training in Peru from the same school Elizabeth had studied and taught at. While in Peru he also learned about Reiki and was attuned to level I & II from his Reiki teacher, Niki Coate. He was also exposed to Kundalini and was drawn to this power generated from these energy practices.

During this time, Yoga Inbody continued to develop. Elizabeth offered Reiki sessions, Reiki training and private yoga classes. Together they ran yoga retreats where they  used their 20+ years of river guiding service  to create comfort for people and support their spiritual awakenings.

In 2020 their path took them to India. On the way to Nepal with Inbody Expeditions, the yoga-based adventure travel company they started in 2016, they took a “quick 7-day” trip to visit an ashram in Vrindavan. The day before they were scheduled to fly back to Nepal, the world went into lockdown from COVID-19. Unable to fly to Nepal or back to the US,

they were stuck in India. Jai Sri Radhe!

There they practiced Bhakti Yoga, the yoga of Love and Devotion.  Their spiritual teacher, Sadhu Marahaj, taught “Love is the Way, Love is the Goal.” They developed a strong loving relationship Sri Sri Radha Mohan and their GuruDev. He opened their souls to Divine service and taught them how to practice Love in Action through his example.  By his mercy, they received the spiritual names Sadhvi and Mahatma.

Sadhvi Elizabeth and Mahatma Jon returned to their river home back in Idaho to employ all of the tools and techniques they learned on their journeys. They help people slow down, re-connect to their true Self, and  live a life of Divine Love. They teach slow yet powerful alignment based asana (yoga) classes and a variety of meditation techniques, focusing primarily on Mantra to help purify the mind and re-connect to the soul. They return to India frequently to deepen their spiritual connections and love sharing their compassionate and loving relationship with people like you.
